She is survived by: her son Garric Dwayne Hawkins (Michele); her grandchildren, Tiffany Franks (Joshua) and Garric Dwayne Hawkins, Jr. (Anna); her great grandchild Garric "Tre" Dwayne Hawkins III; her godson Rodney Ray Swayne; her sister Shirley R. Wilson; and her sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Ray and Sandra D. Ray. She is also survived by nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, friends.

Following her move to Alabama, she continued her service through volunteer work with Etowah RSVP and Gadsden State Community College.
