He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsey Jones and Flora Jones; his sisters, Sue Jacobs and Patricia Land; and his nephew Jeff Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia W. Jones of Peek's Corner; his daughter Kelley Maddox (Tim) of Peek's Corner; his siblings, Jerry Don "Snap" Jones (Kathy) of Peek's Corner and Linda Wright of Scottsboro; and his grandchildren, Cody Maddox (Amy) and Hannah Maddox.
