She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeffie Matthews and Willie Mae McCoy Matthews; her siblings, Shirley, Brenda, Rayford and Raymond; and her close friend Dennis Murphy.

She is survived by: her son David Wayne Allen; and her grandchildren, Dedra Thomas, Matthew Allen (Rachel), Mikayla Thomas, Allyson Thomas, Tyler Thomas, John David Thomas, Dylan Allen, Wesley Allen and Elisha Grace Allen. She is also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren.
