He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Newton and Minnie Pearl McElroy Gibbs; his son Billy Keith Gibbs; and his siblings, Helen Pullen, Jayne Gibbs, Junior Gibbs, Stanley Gibbs, George Gibbs, Tillman Gibbs and Charles Ray Gibbs.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Parker Gibbs of Ranburne; his children, Robyn Watts (Johnny) and Benjamin M. Gibbs (Yuka); and his grandchildren, Kye Mac Gibbs and Kohki Mitchell Gibbs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
