He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Thomas "Sam" Deese and Lillie Anglin Deese; his siblings, Mildred Ridley (Billy), Helen Brooks (Troy), Vernell Smith (Paul), Darence Deese, Owedia Spruell (Wendell) and Othelia "Johnny" Deese; his sister-in-law Jean Deese; and his son-in-law James Tyroff.
He is survived by: his significant other Joyce Crumley Deese; his children, Norman Deese (Becky), Myron Dale Deese (Kimberly Watson), Sharon Tyroff and Valerie Cofield (Scottie); his grandchildren, Amy Bryan, Autumn Davis (Brandon), Jennifer Ballard (Scott), Corrie Deese, Dayla Wittmeyer (David), Stephanie Lee (Matt), Don Pollard, Allison Morris (Blake) and Drew Cofield (Kaley); his brother Kenneth Deese; his sisters-in-law, Susan Patterson and Betty Deese; his brothers, Tony Mahathy and Stacey Hendrix; and his nephews, Steve Deese, Greg Deese, Keith Brooks, Kevin Brooks, Everett Smith, Darnell Smith, Michael Fordham and Scott Williams. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Crumley's Chapel Church of God Cemetery Fund, 288 Co Rd 644, Heflin, AL 36273 in memory of Mr. Deese.
