He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson R Boyd and Ruby Lee Boyd; his grandson Douglas Allen Simpson, Jr.; and his siblings, Christine Swanson, Janie Boyd, John Boyd, Roy Boyd and Bobby Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Boyd; his daughters, Terri Boyd Simpson (Doug) and Jackie Boyd Jiles (Larry); his stepsons, Rodney Summerville and Michael Schwartz (Sara); his grandchildren, Randall (RJ), Mikala Simpson (Marquis McDonald), Ellen Draughon (Joe), Levi Jiles, Kiana Simpson (Devin Powell) and Tesla; his great grandchildren, Barrett, Bryant Simpson, MJ, Maeve McDonald, Cameron Powell, Abby Frady, Easton, Augusta Draughon, Summer, Randall and Reba Ann Summerville; and his siblings, Rosemary Waites (Lamar), David Boyd (Melisa) and Timothy C Rogers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dryden Funeral Home Chapel (1467 Almon St, Heflin, AL 36264). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
