She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Gilbert and Skipper Gilbert; and her brothers, Chuck Gilbert and Dale Gilbert. She is survived by: her husband Alvin Smithey; her children, Daniel Bryan Smithey (Jessica), Christopher Michael Smithey (Brittany) and Dawn Smithey; and her siblings, Richard Gilbert (Sheila), Sue Waldrop (Jon) and Anne Russon. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Locust Fork Baptist Church (30580 AL-79, Locust Fork, AL 35097). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
