Cooper Jr. of Riverchase, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Aubrey Cooper, Sr. and Naomi Seale Cooper; his daughter Kelly Cooper Pope; his stepson Alan Barnett; his significant other Retriever; and his pet Jake.

He is survived by : his wife Betsy Nichols Barnett Cooper "Gubie"; his son Joseph Christopher Cooper (Rita); his granddaughters, Erin Edwards Hill (Joe), Ashley Edwards Ables (Brett) and Jasmine "Jazzy" Cooper; and his great grandchildren, Aidan and Kohen Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and Alcoholics Anonymous.
