She was predeceased by: her parents, Emily A. Hester and Elizabeth Alice Melton Hester; and her husband H. Perry Shelnutt. She is survived by: her son Chris Shelnutt of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Shelnutt of Roanoke, Elizabeth Ann Pike (Billy) of Roanoke and Logun Shelnutt of Roanoke; and her great grandchildren, Kaiden Pike, Destiny Mitchum, C. J. Pike, Katelyn Pike, Madilyn Medeiros and Alec Shelnutt.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go towards final expenses.
