With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Annie Smith of Roanoke, Alabama, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Annie left this world on October 10, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Hal Kelley and Annie Mae Watkins (Kelley). She is survived by: her uncle Alfred Watkins; her aunt Minnie Ware; her cousin Mary T. Bell; her siblings, Curtis Kelley, George McClendon, Arthur Ray Watkins and Mattie Faye Watkins; her daughter Janice Houston (Willie Clyde Houston); her grandchildren, Elder Delvan LeVald Houston, Willie Jerdarryl Houston and LaKeisha Meshae Hooks (Reggie); her great grandchildren, Makayla, Alexis, Jalissa, Jaquavious, Shaniya and Maleigha Hooks; and her friend Annie Sue Smith (Kelley).
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (549 Riley St, Roanoke, AL 36274). The State of Alabama does not have a state-wide mask mandate however, WE ASK all visitors and guests of the family to please note that the incidence of COVID-19 cases throughout Alabama are rising.
