She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Thrower and Salimey "Slim" Rice Thrower; her husband Lawrence "Hap" Ussery; and her siblings, Barbara Ann Maddux, Christine Shelnutt, Carolyn "Cecelia" Thrower and Ralph Thrower.

She is survived by: her son Tim Ussery of Roanoke; her granddaughter Megan Ussery of Roanoke; and her brother Richard Morgan Thrower (Carolyn) of Opelika.
