She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Barnes and Milati Collins Barnes; her husband Homer Hester, Jr.; and her children, Gordon "Jerone" Hester (Edna) and Teresa Carse.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jeff Hester (Christena) of Roanoke and Joey Hester (Ashleigh) of Franklin; her son-in-law Craig Carse; and her great grandchildren, Jeffery Hester (Kelsea), Jacob Hester, Jordan Hester, Donavan Hester (Ashley) and Grayson Hester. She is also survived by six great-great-grandchildren.
