We are sad to announce that on July 18, 2025, at the age of 76, Katie Ruth Thomas of Roanoke, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Hughley, Jimmy Thomas, Malito Thomas, Tonya Thomas and Starlitha Thomas; her siblings, Sammie Lee Hughley Jr., Flora Hughley, Barbara Dell Thomas and Alma Rene Owensby; and her grandchildren, Tequila Peterson (Broski), Sequoyah Whitlow (Curry), Rodriquez Fuller (Lela), Alexandria McFarlin, Sequonte Burdette, Saquavion Burdette, Saquondah Burdette, K'Lynn Thomas, Shamere Thomas, Tytiana Thomas, Keontae Stepp, Sariyah Thomas, Timora Thomas, Sacaria Thomas, Savannah Thomas, Mario Price Jr., Camontae Atwater and Shaneka Hughley. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The lying in state will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel (612 M. L. King Drive SE, Lafayette, AL 36862). Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 314 Seymour Dr, Roanoke, AL 36274.
