She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Reeder and Lela Loette Hester Nelson; her husband Emmett David Howard; and her siblings, Bruce Nelson, Thomas Nelson, Patricia Wilson and Mary Jean Holloway.
She is survived by: her sisters, Faye Jeter (David) of Roanoke and Carolyn Nelson (Elvis Shelnutt) of Franklin. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
