He was predeceased by: his parents, John David Tidwell and Marie Burke Vaughn; his siblings, Pam Tidwell, Ruth Ayres, Wayne Tidwell and Tommy Tidwell; and his pet Spot.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Tidwell; his sons, Steven Tidwell (Jennifer) of Piedmont and Jeff Tidwell of Roanoke; and his grandsons, Caleb Tidwell, Ethan Tidwell and Tanner Tidwell.
