He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlin Pulen and Ruth Eva Beige Pulen. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Tolbert Pullen; his son Phelan Pullen of New York; and his grandchildren, Jamal Vines, Jedarrion Vines, Alesha Franks (Jacob) and Aalayia Smiley (Virgil).
