He is survived by: his brothers, Stony Heflin and Walter Louis Heflin; his caregiver Tavie L. Heflin of Roanoke, Alabama; his siblings, Annette Thornton (Alvin Thornton) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Reverend Robert "Bill" Heflin (Jackie) of Edgefield, SC; and his niece Octavia Heflin Smith (Bert) of Hopewell, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins; classmates — Thomas had so many devoted friends.
