He is survived by: his children, Cathy Brown (Gene) of Heflin, AL and Tommy Newborn (Debbie) of Warner Robins, GA; his grandchildren, Michael Brown (Natalia), Casey Robbins (Wes), Kaydi Lawler (Reid), Matthew Brown (Tori), Tyler Newborn (Brianna) and Dillon Brown (Amber); his siblings, Helen Terry (Edwin) and Gene Newborn (Sandra); his sisters-in-law, Jean Reed (Robert) and Brenda Lackey; and his parents, Pat Newborn and Lois Belcher Newborn. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Benefied Funeral Home (17624 US-431, Wedowee, AL 36278). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Benefield Funeral Chapel (17624 US-431, Wedowee, AL 36278). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mozley Memorial Gardens (3180 S Sweetwater Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122).
