He was predeceased by: his parents, George Coley and Catherine Coley; and his siblings, Georgie Coley, Kenneth Coley and Susan Coley.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Foxworth Coley; his children, James Coley, Jr., Jonathan Coley and Kim Cook; and his sisters, Kathleen Coley Friend and Janet Coley (Gary). He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
