He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Garner and Lessie Dee Garner; and his sister Janice Putman Lovell. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Comer Garner; his children, Kevin Garner (Leah) and Beth Phillips (Jerry); his nephew Chad Putman (Bridgett); his grandchildren, Mallory Brown, Parker Garner (Kaity) and Ryleigh Putman; and his sister Judy Blakely.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department.
