He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlin Nesmith and Voncile Nesmith; his sister Jane Cosby; and his son Phillip Nesmith. He is survived by: his children, Mark Nesmith (Rhonda), Kerry Moody (Sam), Keith Nesmith (Carol), Jodie Nesmith, Lydia Barnett (Glenn) and Wesley Nesmith; and his grandchildren, Kristi Speegle (Matt), Tara Helms (Jarrod), Stephen Nesmith (Jordan), Amanda Cordero (Luis), Nick Moody (Misty), Melissa Moody, Leah Moody (Bree), Savannah Nesmith, Shelby Nesmith, Ryan Nesmith (Carly), Camryn Hall, Paul Nesmith (Niki) and Amber Nesmith (Cruz). He is also survived by his 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Rogersville Funeral Home (18275 US-72, Rogersville, AL 35652). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
