He is survived by: his wife Isaura McMayer; his children, Samuel Maia (Susi Ng), Sulamita Lima (Carlos), Ana Paola Chaves (Claudio) and Natascha Maia (Timothy); and his siblings, Israel Maia, Nathanael Maia, Martins Maia, Ana Correa Maia, Mirian Maia and Raquel Maia. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
