With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary B. Burkhalter of Salem, Alabama, born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on August 25, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Victoria; his son Brian; and his parents, Dewitt Burkhalter and Marjorie Burkhalter. He is survived by: his sister Patricia Herring of Hamilton, GA; his niece Lindsay Metzler (Drew); his great-nephews, Crosby and Lennan of Milton, GA; his grandchildren, Victoria Cooley (Adam) of Salem, AL and Zachary Smith of Opelika, AL; his great grandchildren, Parker and Emersyn Rae Cooley; Sherri Smith (Jeffery) of Salem, AL. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the John B. Amos Cancer Center or the Columbus Hospice House in memory of Mr. Gary Burkhalter.
