She is survived by: her grandchildren, Demetria Jones, Monique Sinclair (Michael), Jonquez Freeman, Laquisha Lewis, Leandre Core (Katie), Michael Richmond (Loren), Felicia Freeman, Brittany Richmond and Forrez Core (Kristen); her siblings, Mavis Williams of Phenix City, AL, Ralph Beasley (Carolyn) of Phenix City, AL and Aaron Beasley of Columbus, GA; her stepchildren, Deborah Hunter-Sawyer of Portsmouth, VA, Brenda Mooney of Portsmouth, VA and Nathaniel Brown of Orlando, FL; her stepsiblings, Wyrene Jones of Rochester, NY, Rosie Moore of Orlando, FL, Nellie Bacon of Atlanta, GA, Roosevelt Henderson (Nellie) of Opelika, AL and Frank Gilmore (Christine) of Syracuse, NY; and her siblings-in-law, Shirley Beasley of Opelika, AL, Lorraine Hunter of Salem, AL, Elmer Hunter (Alice) of Salem, AL and Jerry Hunter (Carolyn) of Gary, IN. She is also survived by twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The lying in state will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Creekstand Freewill Non-Denominational Church (672 Lee Rd 40, Opelika, AL 36801). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
