He is survived by: his wife Norma Bell; his children, Brandon Bell, Lori Powell (Larry), Tim Coates (Frida) and Chris Coates (Patricia); and his grandsons, Tyler and Ethan Coates.
A memorial service was held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Frederick Dean Funeral Home (1801 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801).
