Cooner of Salem, Alabama, born in Sylacauga, Alabama, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer W. Cooner and Dorothy May Kimbrell Cooner; his former wife Sarah "Bootsie" Elizabeth Cooner; and his siblings, Jerry Cooner and Jeanette Cooner Butts.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Cooner of Salem, AL; his children, Elizabeth Michelle Cooner of Crawford, AL, Joseph "Joey" W. Cooner, II (Lyne) of Salem, AL and Amy Rebecca Mills (Jeff) of Crawford, AL; his stepchildren, Nolan Oglesby (Stacy) of Salem, AL and Jenna Oglesby (Jacob) of Auburn, AL; his daughter Sharon Fox of Opelika, AL; his sisters, Elaine Machen of Sylacauga, AL and Catherine "Cat" Morris of Salem, AL; his grandchildren, Kaley York (Joey), Mallory Wood (Michael), Trey Cooner (Elizabeth), Todd Cooner, Tabitha Cooner (Logan) and Charlie McLachlan; and his great grandchildren, Gracie Elizabeth, Mary Katherine, Avery Parker, Sarah Jo, Harper Leigh, Aspen Ruth and Grayson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
