He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Simpson; his parents, Samantha Simpson and Brady Simpson; his siblings, Brady Simpson, Jr., Martha Nell Barrentine and Fannie Jane Swindle; and his son-in-law Terry Cushen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Cushen, Mary Clanton (Greg), Tammy Smith (Bryan) and Lisa Gann (Jason); and his grandchildren, Kristie Yerby (Nathan), Samantha Smith (Josh), Sidney Olmstead (Michael), Joseph Barksdale (Madison), Gage Lowery, Brady Lowery, Rosie Adams, Jace Gann and Cassie Hartley (David). He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
