He was predeceased by: his father Louis M. Sormrude; his great-grandparents, J. C. and Carrie Grimes; his wife Debi Sormrude; his brothers, Rick Sormrude and Robert "Bob" Caldwell; and his father Theodore McCoy.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Cleghorn (Martin) of Andalusia, AL, Brandi Long (Chip) of Andalusia, AL and Erik Sormrude (Nicole) of Samson, AL; his grandchildren, Brett, Tori, J. Cleghorn, Madison, Meagan Long, Rylee, Ava, Emma, Kynlee and Reed Sormrude; his great grandchild Nash Cleghorn; and his siblings, Ron Sormrude (Pat) of Freeport, FL, Rebecca "Becky" Caldwell of Freeport, FL, Russell Caldwell (Theresa) of Freeport, FL, Richard Caldwell (Darlene) of Jay, FL and Tracy Jenkins (Joe) of Samson, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Samson First Baptist Church Women's Ministry.
