He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Newton and Alvie Newton; and his son Michael Newton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Messer Newton; his son Mark Newton (Noi); his daughter-in-law Dianna Newton; his grandchildren, Idea Newton, Jonathan Newton and Suzanne Newton Peterson; his great grandchildren, Ellika, Divinity and James Peterson; his children, Lita Messer Solis (EB), Jody Messer (Amanda) and Jeremy Messer (Amy); and his grandchildren, Gunner, Tanner, Cooper Solis, Aiden, Ansley Messer, Rosalee and Elanor Messer. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 2:00 AM at the Stillwater Church (415 McKeough Ave, Saraland, AL 36571). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
