She was predeceased by: her parents, George Emmitt Rushing and Sarah Louise Henley Rushing; her spouse Elder Gene Thomas; her granddaughter Rebecca Doss; and her siblings, George Everett, James Allen Rushing and Edna Rushing.

She is survived by: her sons, Troy Thomas (Rebecca) of Piketon and David Mark Thomas (Cheri) of Monteagle, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Marie Brock-Smith, Amy Thomas, Jared Thomas, Joel Thomas (Hayley), Cassandra Thomas (Isaac Milyard), Charity Thomas and Case Thomas; her great grandchildren, David Brock-Smith, Sylar Brock-Smith, Emma Brock-Smith, Mila Brock-Smith, Bennett Thomas, Xander Doss and Bryce Doss; and her sister Sarah Pyles of Brandon.
