He is survived by: his wife Kay Whitt; his children, Dustin Buford Whitt, Matthew Richard Jordan, Clay Wilburn, Jamie Nicole Marable (Heath), Natalie Kay Whitt and Cathy Wilburn; his grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter Marable, Wyatt Jordan, Austin Buford Whitt and Madison Whitt; and his siblings, Billy Whitt (Becky), Jerry Whitt (Diane), Tinker Travis and Barbara Dinsmore. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rudder Funeral Home - Scottsboro (716 S Broad St, Scottsboro, AL 35768). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
