We announce the death of John Darrell Hartzog of Seale, Alabama, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 88. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Dewey and Madeline Scroggins Hartzog; and his brother Paul Hartzog. He is survived by: his children, Dana Griggs (Winfred) and Darren Hartzog (Ginger); his grandson John Vernon Griggs; his siblings, Martha Hartzog Hurst, LaDon Hartzog (Betty) and Dallas Hartzog (Joann); and his sister-in-law Gwen Hartzog. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel (100 E Fair St, Eufaula, AL 36027-9537). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
