He is survived by: his father Bennie Edwin Simmons, Sr.; his wife Julie Melton Simmons; his children, Kendall Smith (David), Kelly Cox (Ware) and Kevin Simmons (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Clifton Smith, Crawford Smith, Dawson Cox and Sadie Cox; his sister Kathy Weber (Bobby); and his sisters-in-law, Ann Bradley, Barbara Moore (Roy), Jane Henderson and Susan McDonald.
