She is survived by: her daughters, Dr. Tamera R. Carter (John) of Valley Grande and Melanie Rucker of Prattville, Alabama; her grandchildren, Al'Taviion Rucker, Eriyelle Marshall, Kamari Watts and John Carter Jr.; her close friend Patrick Howard of Birmingham, Alabama; her siblings, Carolyn Steele of Selma, Sherilynn Blevins (Sammie) of Valley Grande, Alabama and Charles Ghee of Selma, Alabama; her cousin Vernon Ghee of Selma, Alabama; her nieces, Latoya Johnson of Selma, Alabama, Jasmine Martin of Selma, Alabama, Ronique Ghee of Birmingham, Alabama, Kanesha Lane (Rendon) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ruykiya Ghee and U. S. Navy of Norfolk, Virginia; her nephew Taurus Johnson of Selma, Alabama; her cousins, Reggie Ghee of Detroit, Michigan, Kelvin Ghee of Detroit, Michigan, Larry Ghee (Patricia) of Nashville, Tennessee, Kenneth King (Rosa) of Montgomery, Alabama, Samuel King of Selma, Alabama and Cassandra Stewart of Prattville, Alabama; and her friends, Brenda Owens, Gloria Crawford and Janice Lewis-McCall. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, loving family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home (1140 Minter Ave, Selma, AL 36703). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (2300 Summerfield Rd, Selma, AL 36701). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Lorenzo Harrison Memorial Gardens (802 S Race St, Selma, AL 36703).
