It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Danny Ray Ellis (Selma, Alabama), who passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Danny is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Danny's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Dan Ellis and Beulah Mae Buell Lloyd. He is survived by: his wife Carnis Ann Wells Ellis; his sons, Brandon Ellis (Stephanie) and Justin Lane Hoppe (Lakesia); his grandchildren, Peyton Ray Ellis, Hanna Grace Ellis, Justin Lane Hoppe, Jr. (Kayla) and Gabriel Langston Hoppe (Caymen); and his sister Trisha Trent (Jeff).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church (100 Crescent Hill Dr, Selma, AL 36701). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at the New Live Oak Cemetery (110 W Dallas Ave, Selma, AL 36701).
