With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Mae Bennett (Selma, Alabama), who passed away on June 24, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmie Day and Mollie Day; her grandson Levi Lennox; and her brothers-in-law, Gene Roberts, Titus Willingham and David Hill.
She is survived by: her husband Billy Bennett; her daughters, Tammie Bennett Vaeth (Marty), Sherrie Bennett Moss (Jason) and Wendy Lennox (Bobby); her grandchildren, Auston Vaeth, Ryan Lennox, Nelson Moss, Victoria Moss, Jacob Lennox and Aaron Lennox; and her siblings, Mary Sue Roberts, Molly Jones (Tom), Patsy Willingham, Virginia Hill, Billy Day (Glenda) and James "Dink" Day (Becky). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at the Casey Cemetery (195 Co Rd 465, Selma, AL 36701).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Casey Cemetery Association, to assist in the upkeep of the cemetery; 8521 US Hwy 80 E, Selma, Alabama 36701.
