He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Johnson and Eloise Johnson; his wife Mary Lou Johnson; his in-laws, Willie and Ruth Dorough; his son-in-law Steve Anderson; and his sisters-in-law, Vonne Sanders and Sue Graben.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Anderson, Leslie Skelton (Charlie), LuAnn Roberts (Ray) and Allison Smith (Dean); his extended family, Amy Hale, Lisa Bamberg and Cody Elliott; his caregivers, Tajinae White, Takonderia Jones and Nese Burton; his grandchildren, Courtney Ellison (Jason), Will Anderson (Amanda), Kelly Anderson (Jet), Katy Olinger (John Alan), Kent Skelton, Meredith Hill (Michael) and Cole Smith; and his great grandchildren, Clay Ellison, Ella Ellison, Brantley Anderson, Weston Anderson, Caroline Anderson, Dale Olinger, Georgia OIinger, Kensley Hill and Kyser Hill.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Elkdale Baptist Church (2221 Elkdale St, Selma, AL 36701). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Memorial Park (6415 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Lanett, AL 36863).
