It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy L. Thicklin in Selma, Alabama, who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Thicklin and Albert Thicklin; and his siblings, Mary Thicklin, Eva Howard, Annie Mae Thomas, Aron Thicklin, Howard Thicklin and Holman Thicklin.
He is survived by: his son Nekio Barron of Park Forest, Illinois; his grandchildren, Arsenio McGhee of Millbrook and Michael McGhee of Coosada, Alabama; and his siblings, Mattie Evans (Lewis) of Selma, Lucille Stover of Minter, Flora Thicklin of Montgomery, Pearlie Taylor of Selma, Alabama, Joseph Thicklin (Angela) of Birmingham and Arthur Lee Thicklin of Pineapple, Alabama. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
