We announce the death of Larry Davis Friday (Selma, Alabama), who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 79. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin Davis Friday and Elizabeth Estelle Lockhart Friday; his sister Norma Dale Friday-Mallett; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Strickland Rigsby and Kay Strickland Tubb (Don).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Strickland Friday; his children, Paris Massey Friday, Dawson D. Friday, Larry Davis Friday, Jr. (Courtney) and Adam C. Friday; his grandchildren, Jane Adele Friday and Alyson Donnelly "Alys" Friday; his brother John D. Friday (Judy); and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Rigsby and Bo Strickland (Ginger). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
