She was predeceased by: her parents, James Fountain and Carlie Fountain; her husband Ray Smith; her son Ernest Bryant Lawrence; and her siblings, Brenda Kay Bickerstaff and James Larry Fountain.
She is survived by: her significant other Ricky Lawrence; her nieces, Cathi Deason (Jeff) and Lawana Savage (Danny); and her nephew James Carswell (Brenda). She is also survived by nine great-nieces and nephews; eighteen great-great-nieces, nephews and claimed grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A graveside service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pineview Memory Gardens (5255 AL-22, Valley Grande, AL 36701).
