She was predeceased by: her parents, John Boykin, Sr. and Tanzie Gould Boykin; her brothers, John Boykin, Jr. and Roosevelt Boykin; and her extended family Jean "Bunny" Gamble.
She is survived by: her husband Theo "Jim" Smart; her daughters, Debra Smart of Selma, AL and Rose Smart of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Torrance Smart of Selma, AL, Trevon Smart of Valley Grande, AL and Keyona Vickers of Birmingham, AL.; her sister Johnnie Mae Alexander of Selma, AL; her siblings-in-law, Robert Smart (Evelyn Ray) of Selma, AL, William Alexander and Rosalie Boykin of Pensacola, FL; her cousin Josie Mae Lewis (Cousin Mae); her extended family Attorney William "Bill" Gamble; and also, Katie, Mary and Will. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home (1140 Minter Ave, Selma, AL 36703). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Morning Star Baptist Church (408 Buckeye Ave, Selma, AL 36701). A burial will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at the Pineview Memory Gardens (5171 AL-22, Valley Grande, AL 36703).
