He was predeceased by: his parents, Fannie Lee Martin and David "Dale" Martin Sr.; his grandson Terrell Ford; his siblings, Ethel Davis, Vina Chappell, Fannie Smith, Susie Richardson, Mary English, Carlean Lee, Dale Martin and Johnny Martin; and his parents-in-law, Lillian Grayson and Willie Grayson Sr..
He is survived by: his caregiver Lillian Martin; his children, Roosevelt Martin Jr. (Candice) of Minnesota, Carlo (Jeanie), Rowena (Clenton) of Selma, AL., Eddie (Sabrina), Annette of Atlanta, GA. and Rociana of Birmingham, AL.; and his siblings, Maggie Hardy of Selma, AL., Queen Awan (Ernie) and Ray Martin (Juanita). He is also survived by five brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Service Chapel (608 St Phillips St, Selma, AL 36703).
