It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Chambers (Selma, Alabama), born in Thomaston, Alabama, who passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Chambers Sr. and Rosie Lee Chambers; his wife Orvie Withers; his siblings, Willie Chambers and Thelma Chambers; and his grandson Marlon Billingsley.
He is survived by: his children, Santonio Miles of Fairfield, LaToya Smitherman of Montgomery, Alabama and Jermaine Miles of Selma, Alabama.; his grandchildren, Jaliah Smitherman of Montgomery, Alabama, Kennedy Smitherman of Montgomery, Alabama, Terrel Chaney, Quintavious Thompson and Tacara West; his great grandchildren, Delaney Marie Smitherman of Dallas, Kaisen and Kaisley Smith of Huntsville; his siblings, Jimmie Chambers of Newark, Hattie Givan of Birmingham, Alabama and Rosa Hardy of Huntsville, Alabama.; and his nieces, Faith Givan of Vestavia Hills and Stephanie Chambers of Rahway. He is also survived by cousins, friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home (1140 Minter Ave, Selma, AL 36703). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel (1140 Minter Ave, Selma, AL 36703).
