Jerilyn Byrd Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 25, 2024, at the age of 87, Jerilyn Byrd of Semmes, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Eddis E. Byrd; her parents, J. D. Walters and Ina Mae Walters; and her brother Roger C. Walters (Mertle). She is survived by : her children, Russell E. Byrd (Gina Armagost Byrd) of Knoxville, TN, Karen Byrd Dempsey (Robert) of Mukilteo, WA and Angela Byrd Cooley (Lee) of Semmes, AL; her grandchildren, Sarah Byrd Humphreys (Charlie), Hannah Byrd, Amber Dempsey, Chase Dempsey, Anna Benezue, Colby Andrews (Elizabeth) and Connor Andrews (Elisha); and her great grandchildren, Oliva Bloch, Arthur Humphreys and Sister Linda Dockery. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations be sent to Sacred Grounds Hospice House in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jane Creighton wrote a sympathy message

“I am so saddened to read of Jeri's death. She was such a lovely individual, with a fabulous sense of humor and the most joyful laugh! Jeri and I became acquainted when she worked at First National Bank, on Moffet Rd., in Mobile. I was a customer.
