It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Waters of Semmes, Alabama, who passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Doc Reese Long and Bertha Irene Willis; and her husband William Edward "Buddy" Waters. She is survived by: her children, Laura Elmore (Paul), Penny Faircloth (Tim), Sharon Wittner (Joe), David Waters (Cheri) and Marvin Waters (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Wittner (Nikki), Fran Odom (Phillip), Jason Bullock (Melissa), Jennifer Hill (Derrick), Kyle Waters, Rachel Dorce (Dorly), Tyler Waters, Cory Waters (Melanie), Derek Waters, Raina McRee and Katherine Faircloth. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, five great- great-grandchildren, along with extended family members, and friends.
