She was predeceased by: her parents, E. L. Hooker and Minnie Hooker; her husband Waldrep "Ras" Bates; her daughter Charlotte Lee Bates; her great grandchild Brantlee Ray Presley; and her siblings, Bill Hooker, Jack Hooker, Doris Baker, Jean Nichols and Mary Colburn.
She is survived by: her children, Van Bates, Rickey Bates (Susan) and Jenny Roberson; her grandchildren, Jacob Bates (Hillary), Ashley Bates, Tye Roberson, Anna Hopkins (Chase), Stephanie Straight (Clayton) and Jesse Bates (Kristin); her great grandchildren, Brooklyn Bates, Kallie Bates, Maddie Elkins, Abel Jones, Kristian Doss, Alexis Doss, Akyrah Kirkman, Zayde Roberson, Cash Hopkins, Ayla Kay Hopkins, Brody Bates and Braxton Bates; and her siblings, Marie Mason and Robert Hooker. She is also survived by many friends, neighbors, and other family members.
