With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mae Benjamin August (Sheffield, Alabama), born in Corinth, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 12, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward George August, Sr.; her parents, Walter Benjamin and Garnett Benjamin; and her siblings, Clarence Benjamin, Milton Benjamin and Sandra Tyson.
She is survived by: her children, Edward George August, Jr. of Sheffield, AL, Benjamin Alan August (Tammy) of Killen, AL and Russell Andrew August (Jackie) of Navarre Beach, FL.; her brother Dexter Benjamin (JoAnn) of Corinth, MS; and her grandchildren, Anna Kate Trzaskoma (Josh), Ben August (Nena) and Zoe August. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
