He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert A. Moore and Frances Marie Moore; his siblings, Julia Mercer, John E. Moore and Michael "Mickey" Moore; his brothers-in-law, Keith Miller and Early Mercer; and his pet Buster.

He is survived by : his wife Darthy Moore; his children, James H. "Jamey" Moore (Bobbie) and Courtney Pierce (Jeff); his grandchildren, Molly Lawson (Hunter), Michael Goodwin and Jaydyn Pierce Butterworth (Jaxon); his great grandchild Greenleigh Moore; his siblings, Bobbie Moore Miller and Robert A. Moore (Linda); and his sisters-in-law, Maxine Moore and Linda Moore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
