He was predeceased by: his parents, James Windham Sickles, Sr. and Effie Mae Short; his son Brent Sickles; and his siblings, Betty Early, Tim Short and Robin Short.
He is survived by: his wife Lyla J. Sickles of Shelby; his children, Jay Sickles of Shelby, Johnathan Sickles of Shelby, Joeseph Sickles of Shelby and Stephanie Williamson; his grandchildren, Jaycob Sickles, Hunter Sickles, Holden Sickles and Sadie Sickles; and his siblings, Jeanette Sickles of Cordova, Bill Owens of Ohatchee, Harold Sickles of Corner and Denise Owens of Cordova.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home (1709 Lay Dam Rd, Clanton, AL 35045). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Alabama Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
