She was predeceased by: her husbands, Jackie Lassiter and Jerry Murphy; her son Greg Lassiter; and her sister Brenda McCord. She is survived by: her children, Donna Sue Hightower (Alan) and Mark T. Lassiter (Amy); her grandchildren, Jake Lassiter, Jason Hightower (Maggie), Derek Hightower (Emily) and Hannah McLendon (Marc); and her great grandchildren, Samuel Hightower, Dansby Hightower, Wesley McLendon and Bella McLendon. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the New Hinson Baptist Church (1143 Co Rd 48, Slocomb, AL 36375). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
